What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to schools in England to help improve the attainment of disadvantaged pupils. This funding is allocated to schools based on the number of pupils who are eligible, such as those who are currently or have previously been eligible for free school meals, or those who are looked after by the local authority.
What are the aims of Pupil Premium?
Our overarching aim is to ensure that all our pupils, regardless of their background, have the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. We do this by:
- Providing targeted academic support, such as small group interventions and one-to-one tutoring, to help close any attainment gaps.
- Offering enrichment activities and experiences, such as educational visits and residential trips to broaden our pupils' horizons and develop their confidence and skills.
- Investing in the wellbeing and personal development of our pupils, including through pastoral support and access to specialist services.
Is your child eligible for Pupil Premium?
If your child is currently or has previously been eligible for free school meals, or if they are looked after by the local authority, they may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding. We encourage all families who believe they may be eligible to get in touch, we are happy to provide more information and support you with the application process.
By working together with our families and the wider community, we are confident that the Pupil Premium funding will have a positive impact on the lives of our pupils, helping them to thrive and succeed both academically and personally.
