Thank you for taking an interest in Otterburn Primary School and Nursery. I hope our website gives you a flavour of our school, our values and what life is like here.
At the heart of our school is a simple vision for every child: Be Happy, Aim High, Achieve Your Full Potential. This reflects what we want for every pupil who comes through our doors.
We are proud to be a small rural school where children are known and valued as individuals. We have high aspirations for every child and want our pupils to be confident, curious and enthusiastic learners who are willing to have a go, persevere when things are difficult and take pride in what they achieve. We want to broaden children's horizons and give them opportunities and experiences that help them discover their interests and recognise what they are capable of.
Just as importantly, we want our children to grow into kind, respectful and responsible young people. We encourage them to have a voice, listen to and respect the views of others, make good choices and play an active part in school and community life. In doing so, children develop the values, confidence and sense of responsibility that will help them contribute positively to their community here in Northumberland and to the wider world.
We want our children to enjoy coming to school, feel safe and supported, embrace new opportunities and leave us with happy memories, strong foundations and confidence in what they can achieve.
We greatly value the relationships we have with our families and wider community and believe that working together gives our children the best possible start.
Choosing a school for your child is an important decision and there is no better way to get a feel for a school than to see it for yourself. If you are considering Otterburn, please contact the school office to arrange a visit. I would be delighted to welcome you and show you what makes our school special.
